The other day I got the Blu Ray/DVD combo release of Disney’s 2012 film release, Wreck-It Ralph. I really, really loved this movie when I saw it in theaters. As a matter of fact I actually saw this one on opening day. I took the chance to go see it, and it instantly became one of my favorite movies. Needless to say, I was looking forward to it coming out on video, so I could watch it whenever I wanted.
Today, I went to the movie theater to see a film that I have been looking forward to for between two and three years, since I first heard about it. I am a huge fan of L. Frank Baum’s Oz series. I have several reproductions of the original hardcovers, including the 100th anniversary edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. That being said, I’m also a pretty big critic as to how these works are handled when it comes to adaptations. I have to say that I was very pleased with Disney’s Oz: The Great And Powerful. I’d like to talk about the film without giving spoilers, so this is going to be as close to spoiler free as I can make it.
